Obituary | Clark B. McCleary, CLU, ChFC, AEP, Past President FSP

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of dear FSP Past President, Clark B. McCleary, CLU, ChFC, AEP from Texas, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025.

Clark was a cherished member of the FSP community and a true leader in our profession. He served as President of FSP in 1999–2000 and remained active in the industry throughout his life. Clark, along with fellow industry legend Ben Baldwin, was the inaugural recipient of the Ken Black Leadership Award. He also contributed greatly to the American Business Ethics Award program and was known for his steadfast commitment to advancing professionalism and integrity across the field. In 2024, Clark received the Hart Axley Lifetime Achievement Award from NAEPC, where he was already honored as a Hall of Fame member. His dedication, wisdom, and kindness left a lasting mark on all who knew him. Clark’s late brother, Dan McCleary, also served on the FSP Board and was equally admired for his leadership and gentle spirit. Together, they exemplified the values of service, integrity, and compassion that define our profession. Clark continued to demonstrate his faithful leadership and dedication by recently actively engaging with NAIFA and FSP Past Presidents through our NAIFA Past President Task Force calls, inspiring others with his ongoing commitment to service.

Clark will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his many friends and colleagues.
