NAIFA-MN President testifies at State Capitol

Advocating for NAIFA Members and Clients

Lori Gubash NAIFA MN PRESIDENT testified today at the State Capitol in support of HF 3389, a bill that modernizes Minnesota’s continuing education requirements for insurance producers while maintaining strong consumer protections. The legislation ensures nationally recognized professional designations and out-of-state approved courses are honored, reduces unnecessary duplication, and clarifies that bona fide trade association education is not considered company-sponsored training. It also allows up to four hours of CE credit for active leadership in professional insurance associations—recognizing the time producers invest in strengthening ethical standards, advocacy, and industry education. Importantly, the 24-hour CE requirement and three-hour ethics mandate remain unchanged, preserving accountability while supporting professional growth.
